Duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs work related to the collection, organization, and/or tracking of information in support of the law enforcement program. Reviews inspection reports for cited violations and tracks enforcement responses to ensure timely and appropriate enforcement actions are taken. Utilizes software functions such as automatic generation of tables of contents, importation of graphics, creation of glossaries, and/or precise alignment of columns to create materials. Performs typing work, whether from voice recordings or written material on either a typewriter or using word processing. Performs duties in support of an individual, and in some cases, the subordinate staff of that individual as well. Performs or monitors standardized aspects of established Police Service program operations such as establishing and maintaining records or operating an established employee identification system. Reviews requests for and issues photo identification documents to employees, contractors, visitors, etc. Performs police dispatching duties that requires the prioritizing of calls received. Responds to emergency requests for assistance by dispatching, directing , or referring the information to the appropriate party. Prioritizing of responses may include but are not limited to fire alarms, duress alarms, violent incidents or medical emergencies. Monitors police emergency 911 telephone and immediately dispatches officer to specific locations as warranted. Answers telephone calls and receives information pertinent police assistance. Provide face-to-face customer service in relation to providing information or assistance to patients, visitors and employees. Work Schedule:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. GS-05 grade level:
One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes:
Answering emergency phones lines, dispatching police, fire, rescue, and safety personnel to emergencies, operating facility overhead paging system during medical emergencies, grants PIV card access to employees; and provides traffic control. Understands the rules of governing use of radio frequencies, transmission, storage, and divulgence of information received via radio or various law enforcement databases. OR Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-05 level. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have completed four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE:
Transcripts must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation. OR Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-05 level. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements at grades GS-5. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. To calculate, first identify the percentage of required education you have earned (when substituting, you cannot use the first 60 semester hours that you earned). Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at the GS-05. For example, an applicant who has 9 semester hours of graduate level education (i.e. 50% of graduate education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position A transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
