The Geriatric Primary Care physician will:
-Assume an active role in the implementation of Geriatric PACT (Patient Aligned Care Team) performance improvement plan/measure -Participate in Geriatric PACT team meetings and huddles -Keep the Geriatric PACT Team apprised of medical care advances and practice standards. -Arrange physician coverage in his/her absence and communicate plan of coverage to the Chief of Geriatrics -Provide primary care, identify patients' medical problems, define the medical management of these problems, determine the need for consultation from medical/surgical/psychiatric subspecialty clinics and determine the need for and facilitates admission to the hospital and visits hospitalized patients as appropriate. -Actively participate and contribute to the educational mission of the VA's educational and clinical experience of medical students, residents and/or fellows assigned to Geriatrics Primary Care -Exercise corporate citizenship by serving as a leader and/or active member on assigned interdisciplinary teams and medical center committees as requested. -Document in a timely manner in all areas and in accordance with facility policy -Be readily available to the PACT members for collaboration regarding patient care -Assist/Assume other duties as required/assigned to provide adequate coverage for Geriatric and Extended Care programs -Provide on call off-tour coverage of Geriatrics on a rotational basis with other physicians in the Geriatrics Medicine section. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine is preferred, but not required. - Family Practice physician may also be considered if there is evidence of geriatric medicine training. Reference:

Moderate lifting (15-44 lbs), moderate carrying (15-44 lbs), straight pulling (.5 hr), pushing (.5 hr), reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, both hands required, walking (2.5 hrs), standing (5 hrs), repeated bending, ability to distinguish basic colors, hearing (aid permitted).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
