Environmental Program Specialist 1 including Trainee 1 and 2

In this position the incumbent will work closely with the Office of Environmental Justice staff to provide a broad range of policy, technical, and analytical support. This might include environmental impact analysis, pollution prevention, and researching and disseminating green infrastructure information. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o Assess the potential for environmental justice initiatives to be incorporated in programs and other opportunities; o Foster communication and education between agencies, municipalities, and organizations; o Develop and implement program policies and procedures; o Prepare and interpret rules and regulations; o Provide non-engineering technical assistance and information to consultants, public officials, and the public; o Collect data, review alternatives, and perform qualitative or quantitative policy analyses; o Write technical or programmatic reports; o Develop, implement, analyze, and evaluate programs; o Develop and implement expenditure plans, procure external funding sources, collect and forecast the impact of funding and/or organizational change efforts; o Assist with the development of environmental public information campaigns including workshops, public meetings, and other outreach events; o Assist with review of grant applications; o Familiarity with creating and maintaining mapping and GIS projects for internet and internal use; o Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range:
From $42986 to $71980 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC or Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis. or Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 11 or higher and either:
Eligible for transfer under Section 70.4:

Permanent competitive service as an Environmental Program Specialist 1 (including trainees), Program Aide, Administrative Specialist 1, Biologist 1 (Aquatic), (Ecology), (Marine), (Wildlife), Public Participation Specialist 1, Environmental Analyst 1 and Trainee 1 & 2, Environmental Engineering Technician 2 & 3, Fish and Wildlife Technician 3, Legal Assistant 2, Mineral Resources Technician 2, Pesticide Control Specialist 1 & 2, Public Health Specialist 2 Environmental, Sanitary Construction Inspector 2, Senior Engineering Research Editor. 55-b/55-c Candidates must meet the open competitive minimum qualifications below and include with their resume or application, a copy of the letter from Civil Service which indicates approval for the 55-b/55-c program. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
