Mechanic II

Job Description:
CorTech LLC is seeking professional Mechanic Level 2's in or around Albany NY to work inside shop or travel from customer to customer to diagnose and perform repairs and planned maintenance work on material handling and/or compact construction equipment and related equipment ensuring service meets all customer, quality, and industry standards and requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 40% Perform advanced inspections and planned maintenance on customer, rental and company equipment.
Perform safety and operational tests, warranty repairs and recalls.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems based on customer reports and equipment standards.
Work closely with senior mechanics to develop and demonstrate the ability to learn additional skills and use mics, gauges, and other hand tools relevant to the repair and maintenance of industry-specific vehicles and equipment.
20% Communicate professionally daily with supervisor and customer regarding problems and issues related to equipment.
Recommend needed repairs and test equipment operation following repair.
Process paperwork timely and accurately.
20% Inspect new machinery prior to customer delivery.
Research, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet customer requirements.
10% Perform miscellaneous job-related duties including, but not limited to: working with senior mechanics to learn additional skills, attending training meetings, communicating with office staff and customers, as needed.
10% Maintain personal work space in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed customer and T&J safety regulations.
Order supplies and restock truck with tools and supplies, as needed.
Perform all repairs within T&J safety guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES â¢Knowledge to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and perform repairs.
â¢Must be able to safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks and material handling equipment.
â¢Knowledge to ensure all maintenance and repair work is performed accurately, efficiently, and safely to prevent injury to yourself and others and damage to equipment.
â¢Knowledge and ability to understand the necessary service and training manuals, including the ability to interpret schematics and effectively use electrical diagnostic instruments.
â¢Ability to work independently using effective organizational and time management skills with minimum direction.
â¢Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
â¢Excellent organizational skills and ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare routine paperwork.
â¢Must be able to communicate professionally verbally and in writing.
â¢Must be able to read a map; understand and follow directions, safety rules, and standard operating procedures.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS 2-4 years technical training or experience in mechanical repair is required.
A high school diploma or equivalent is desirable LICENSING, CERTIFICATION AND/OR TRAINING REQUIREMENTS Employee must test for and pass provided training in industry-specific mechanical repair certifications for at least 1-2 OEM repair procedures.
Ability to become T&J Bronze level Certified within 180 days.
Must have at the time of hire, and maintain throughout employment, a valid NYS Driver License free of major infractions.
Complete and maintain current Company forklift certification.
EQUIPMENT, MACHINES AND SOFTWARE USED: Ability to operate a computer for training and to view online manuals; cell phone, IPhone, IPad, tablet, fax machine, calculator, hand held radio, forklift, pallet jack, and various hand and power tools.
Ability to wear safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, hard hat, and any other safety equipment required.
Computer Software: Microsoft Outlook or Express, Word, and Adobe.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
