Job Description:
CorTech LLC is seeking professional Mechanic Level 3's in or around Albany NY to travel from customer to customer to diagnose and perform repair and planned maintenance work on material handling and/or compact construction or related equipment ensuring service meets all customer, business, and quality standards and requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 40% Communicate professionally daily with dispatcher to determine work schedule.
Drive service van equipped with tools, equipment, and supplies from job site to job site to troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs on mechanical, structural, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic components of gasoline and diesel powered equipment with the use of appropriate test equipment and hand/power tools.
Recommend needed repairs and test machinery operation following repair.
40% Perform advanced inspections and planned maintenance on customer and rental equipment and machinery.
Clean and lubricate shafts, gears, gaskets, and other parts of machinery.
Maintain, repair, and replace elements of chassis assembly including steering, brakes (air, mechanical and hydraulic) and lifts, drives and controls; mounts, dismounts, services and repair tires on all types of motorized equipment.
10% Perform miscellaneous job-related duties including, but not limited to: working with less senior or experienced mechanics to train for additional skills, attending training meetings, communicating with office staff and customers, as needed.
10% Maintain accurate paperwork of all maintenance and repair work performed on equipment.
Maintain personal work space in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed customer and Client's safety regulations.
Order supplies and restock truck with tools and supplies, as needed.
Perform all repairs within Client's safety guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Proficient in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and performing repairs.
Must be able to safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks and material handling equipment.
Knowledge to ensure all maintenance and repair work is performed accurately, efficiently, and safely to prevent injury to yourself or others and damage to equipment.
Knowledge and ability to understand the necessary service and training manuals, including the ability to interpret schematics and effectively use electrical diagnostic instruments.
Ability to work independently using effective organizational and time management skills with minimum direction.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare routine paperwork.
Must be able to communicate professionally verbally and in writing.
Must be able to read a map; understand and follow directions, safety rules, and standard operating procedures.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS 5 years technical training or experience in mechanical repair is required.
A high school diploma or equivalent is desirable.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
LICENSING, CERTIFICATION AND/OR TRAINING REQUIREMENTS Employee must test for and pass provided training in industry-specific mechanical repair certifications for at least 3-4 OEM repair procedures.
Ability to become Silver level Certified through Client within 180 days.
Complete and maintain current Company forklift certification.
Must have at the time of hire, and maintain throughout employment, a valid NYS Driver License free of major infractions.
EQUIPMENT, MACHINES AND SOFTWARE USED: Ability to operate a computer for training and to view online manuals; cell phone, IPhone, IPad, tablet, fax machine, calculator, hand held radio, forklift, pallet jack, and various hand and power tools.
Ability to wear safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, hard hat, and any other safety equipment required.
Computer Software: Microsoft Outlook or Express, Word, and Adobe

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
