GPIis seekinga full-time Traffic/Transportation Engineer for our growing Albany Office. This position provides the flexibility to be involved in both public and private development projects with a diversity of work from Traffic Studies and Signal Designs to Pedestrian Safety, Multi-modal Operations, and Roadway Lighting Design. The immediate role will require the candidate to prepare traffic studies and/or designs with minimal guidance and to collaborate effectively with other staff members to produce quality deliverables for our clients.

Responsibilities:
Thorough understanding of current traffic engineering standards and practices
Working knowledge of drafting, traffic analysis, and traffic simulation programs (Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, AUTOCAD, MicroStation and Microsoft Office) is required
Good writing skills with the ability to prepare traffic studies, reports and memorandums
Experience with roadway lighting design a plus
Experience with pedestrian safety, trails and multi-modal accommodation is a plus
Qualifications:
BS in Civil Engineering required with a focus in Traffic/Transportation preferred.
4
years of traffic engineering experience preferred, but all levels of experience will be considered
NY PE and/or PTOE is a plus

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
