Abiding by the Mercycare mission and values, under the direction of the Chief of Medical Imaging, the Vascular/Interventional Technologist performs all vascular/interventional procedures in accordance with departmental standards.
Responsibilities :
Diagnostic imaging Operate and adjust imaging equipment Explain procedure to patient, position patient and equipment Obtains and records a complete clinical history pertinent to the examination requested.
Evaluates requests for appropriateness, refers concerns to coordinator and/or Radiologist.
Ability to compress and evaluate arterial and venous puncture sites.
Selects appropriate technical factors for requested imaging exam.
Assists in the instruction of student technologists and new personnel.
Selects accurate post processing techniques in order to optimize vascular/interventional images.
Has full knowledge of inventories available and their applications (catheters, guidewires and stents).
Maintains aseptic technique during procedures and scrub with physician.
Ability to access and interpret lab values and patient monitoring equipment.
What you will need :
