Teacher-Career Education-Criminal Justice (Long Term Substitute) Location:
Career & Technical Education - Albany Campus Basic Function:
To instruct high school students in the proper practices, procedures and skills associated with the Criminal Justice industry.
To provide entry level skills allowing students to enter the job market or to continue their education at the post-secondary level.
To be involved in developing partnership programs with local colleges and universities.
Responsibilities:
1.
To develop in each pupil, an awareness and understanding coupled with the skills and knowledge of security procedures in public, commercial and residential settings.
2.
Educate about the history, theory, practices and recent developments in the profession.
3.
Hands on learning on patrolling, investigative skills/techniques, and crime scene investigation including radio use, note-taking, evidence gathering, and dealing with safety hazards and emergency situations, as well as lifting fingerprints, photographing and diagramming crime scenes.
4.
Instruct on police, court and prison systems; operation of security and protection programs; protection systems technology; risk analysis; disaster management; criminal procedures and arrest laws; court proceedings; communication skills; contemporary issues; first aid & CPR.
5.
To be responsible for developing and evaluating course plans.
6.
To instill on the importance of furthering their education in the fields of civil and criminal law or law enforcements or protection academies.
7.
Qualify students to test for New York State Security Officer certification.
8.
To strive to instill in each student safe work habits, reliability, competence, loyalty and dependability.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
