Habilitation Specialist 2

DUTIES:
o Assists in the development of comprehensive day habilitation service plans which promote each individual's valued outcomes. o Evaluates the quality of all services through individual/family surveys, personal observation and review of written materials such as Day Habilitation Plans, notes, etc. o Ensures compliance with agency practices and policies as well as regulatory policies by attending and conducting staff meetings to update or be updated on laws, regulations, program and personnel policies, procedures and inter-agency agreements. o Provides and ensures supervision, training/education on habilitation techniques, and timely evaluations of program staff. o Oversees the maintenance of records and verbal communication regarding individual progress in habilitation and community support. o Prepares statistical and other summary programmatic reports. o Coordinates employment opportunities and prepares individuals for community employment opportunities. Adheres to all Department of Labor standards. o Ensures a safe environment for staff and individuals by coordinating all support services as needed to maintain the physical site. o Oversees productivity of work comprised of individuals and performs payroll processing for each individual following Federal and State Department of Labor regulations. o Coordinate Transportation and oversee vehicle maintenance. SELECTION CRITERIA:
o Ability to work as a team player. o Ability to flex schedule to meet the needs of the individuals. o Ability to manage time to meet the needs of the individuals, as well as documentation requirements. o Previous documented and verifiable experience. o Satisfactory employment history as evidenced by a review of personal history folder and supervisory evaluations. Salary Range:
From $57984 to $73813 Annually
Minimum Qualification

Qualifications:
- In title Habilitation Specialist 2, Grade 17; OR - Eligible for 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to Habilitation Specialist 2 by the Department of Civil Service (must also be within 2 salary grades of grade 17.) OR - In the event there is not a viable eligible list, candidates that meet the following qualifications may be qualified for Provisional Appointment pending exam. To be appointed on provisional status, you must be eligible to and participate in the next Civil Service examination(s) being given for this title. You must be qualified for appointment from the eligible list. You must be a reachable candidate, when the exam list is produced by civil service, in order to obtain permanent status and maintain your position. Below are the minimum qualifications for Provisional Appointment:
You must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Habilitation Specialist 1, Habilitation Specialist 1 (Spanish Language), or Habilitation Specialist 1 (Manual Communications). Qualified Intellectual Developmental Professional (QIDP) is preferred. QIDP candidates must possess Bachelor's degree in Human Services and have one (1) years' experience working with people with developmental disabilities.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
