Automotive Painter Job Type:
Full Time, Hourly Non-Exempt Position
Summary:
Painting automotive vehicles specific to customer orders Essential Duties:
Identifying and removing layers of sub-coatings by using abrasives, solvents or chemicals Preparing surfaces using power and manual sanding equipment Make any necessary repairs prior to masking, applying priming and top coating using spray guns Detail oriented and capable to precisely match color formulations Applying refinishing products in the correct sequence for proper adhesion and durability Applying or restoring anti-corrosion treatments Using physical dexterity to apply decals, transfers, stencils and other types of identification to finished paint work on various types of motor vehicles Ability to communicate and interact well with co-workers and customers Analyze and review the exterior paint condition of various motor vehicles and determine the appropriate corrective action plan for any necessary repairs Clean and maintain equipment and tools Monitoring of ventilation and safety devices Able to meet or exceed deadlines Perform other duties as needed Skills/
Qualifications:
Ability to read work orders Knowledge and use of a tape measure Must be able to lift up to 100lbs or more Must be able to wear protective welding gear Capable to bend, squat, and stretch (Repetitive Motion) Utilize tools such as drills, clamps, paint sprayer, etc.
Education/
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED 2 or more years experience in automotive painting Equivalent of education and experience accepted
