State Police Microwave Communications Technician

Maintain, repair, test, configure and install microwave communications transceivers with associated multiplex and networking equipment in statewide terminals servicing the State Police, State Department of Environmental Conservation, State Department of Transportation and other regional and local Emergency Response and Public Safety agencies. Interpret microwave equipment specifications and system block and level drawings. Interpret interface requirements for associated land mobile systems, telephone systems and data systems which interface with a microwave network. Possess the necessary technical, electronic, and mechanical skills to accomplish repairs and generally resolve failures within a system and know how to operate essential test equipment for all related systems. Develop, implement and maintain IP network, including routing protocols, network traffic, and access control.
Job Function

Salary Range:
From $61270 to $77912 Annually
Minimum Qualification
High school graduate or equivalent and six (6) years combined experience in microwave system maintenance and repair, microwave transmission, and land mobile system repair. OR High school graduate or equivalent and six (6) years experience in Wide Area Network (WAN) maintenance or implementation. An associate's degree in electrical technology or a related field may substitute for two years of experience. A bachelor's degree in electrical technology or a related field may substitute for four years of experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
