THE OPPORTUNITY
Behan Communications Inc., the Capital Region's leading public
relations firm, seeks applications for the position of Corporate
Controller. Responsibilities include:
Managing the firm's accounting and reporting systems;
Providing financial planning and analysis;
Monitoring and maintaining internal controls and audit
procedures;
Preparing financial reports in accordance with GAAP;
Preparing and managing budgets;
Managing payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable and
bank reconciliations;
Supervising preparation of monthly invoices; and
Ensuring that corporate and regulatory reports are properly
prepared and filed in a timely manner, among other duties.
Our Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer and serves
as a liaison with banks, accountants, vendors and other
professionals.
Requirements include a Certified Public Accounting license, a
bachelor's or advanced degree in accounting or finance from an
accredited university or college and five years of public
accounting experience. The Controller will work in both our Glens
Falls and Albany offices. This is a position with significant
professional growth opportunity.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
